Dominion Patient Positioning System
Explore the Dominion PPS (Patient Positioning System) product overview, features, and core advantages covering cost, compliance, portability, and safety in the operating room.
Product Overview
Dominion Patient Positioning System
Dominion PPS is a portable table attachment & patient positioning system designed to support multiple procedures, with a particular focus on the anterior approach for total hip replacement, trauma surgery, and hip arthroscopy.
Dominion Patient Positioning System is surgeon-controlled and AORN-compliant, reducing staff burden and non-sterile operators while costing ~50% less than competitors and enabling faster setup, greater throughput, and more efficient ASCs. Individual results may vary. Technique and outcomes are at the discretion of the operating surgeon.
Dominion PPS Features
STANDARD OR TABLE INTEGRATION
The Dominion PPS is designed to integrate with a standard operating room table. This configuration brings the system’s positioning functions to a table-based platform with surgeon control from within the sterile field.
COMPACT DESIGN AND SUITE STORAGE
The PPS combines compact architecture with storage on a shelf in the surgical suite. Its design considers equipment footprint and the space requirements of operating rooms and ambulatory surgery centers.
PELVIC ALIGNMENT AND FEMORAL ACCESS
Powered pelvic alignment and femoral access are also part of the PPS design. For the direct anterior approach, the system is designed to provide procedural access and femoral exposure.
CONTROL WITHIN THE STERILE FIELD
Positioning control is operated from within the sterile field. This configuration reflects Dominion’s emphasis on keeping clinical responsibilities with the clinical team and reducing dependence on outside personnel for positioning.
Designed with Value in Mind
The Dominion PPS integrates with a standard operating room table, with capital and resource considerations informing its development. This approach reflects Dominion’s focus on creating lasting value for healthcare facilities, particularly ambulatory surgery centers.
Dominion PPS Core Advantages
Cost
The Dominion PPS integrates with a standard operating room table. Its development takes into account the capital, space, and staffing considerations of healthcare facilities, with a focus on the needs of ambulatory surgery centers.
Compliance
Dominion’s launch preparation includes regulatory and quality systems alongside manufacturing, reprocessing, and sterile supply planning. Training and ASC onboarding are also incorporated into the process of introducing the PPS.
Portability
The PPS features a compact architecture designed around the operating room environment and integration with a standard OR table. Space considerations are part of Dominion’s development approach, particularly for ambulatory surgery centers with smaller rooms.
Reduce Burden
The PPS places positioning control in the surgeon’s hands within the sterile field. Dominion’s workflow approach focuses on reducing dependence on outside personnel for positioning and keeping clinical responsibilities with the clinical team.
More Cases
Dominion considers the workflow surrounding the entire procedure, from scheduling and room selection through setup, positioning, and turnover. Room utilization is part of this broader development focus, alongside the needs of surgeons and operating room teams.
Safety
Patient protection is a guiding principle in Dominion’s development process. The PPS incorporates surgeon control from within the sterile field, reflecting the company’s emphasis on role clarity and keeping clinical tasks with the clinical team.
